Privacy Policy

PersonalFinX is designed with privacy as a core principle. All financial data you enter is stored exclusively on your device. We do not sell, share, or transmit your personal financial information to any third party.

1. About This Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how PersonalFinX ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use our iOS and iPadOS application ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

PersonalFinX is designed to operate entirely on-device. The following describes what data is used and how:

Financial Data You Enter: Income, expenses, assets, liabilities, subscriptions, credit card balances, and budget information you manually enter or import. This data is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure on-device storage and is never transmitted to our servers.
Imported Documents: Paystub PDFs and bank transaction files (CSV, OFX, QFX) you choose to import. These are processed locally on your device and not uploaded to any server.
Apple Intelligence Processing: Certain AI-powered insight features use Apple's on-device intelligence framework. This processing occurs entirely on your device in accordance with Apple's privacy policies. No financial data is sent to Apple or any third party for AI processing.
Crash Reports and Diagnostics: If you have opted in to share analytics with app developers via your iOS Settings, we may receive anonymized crash reports through Apple's standard crash reporting service. This data does not include any of your financial information.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

Bank account credentials or login information
Social Security numbers or government ID numbers
Payment card numbers or full financial account numbers
Your precise or coarse location
Your contacts, photos, or microphone data
Advertising identifiers or tracking data

4. How We Use Information

Information you enter into PersonalFinX is used solely to provide the features of the App — displaying your financial summary, generating budget analysis, calculating debt payoff scenarios, and similar functions. We do not use your data for advertising, marketing profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the App's core functionality to you.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your financial data is stored on your device using Apple's built-in secure storage mechanisms. If you use iCloud Backup, your app data may be included in your personal iCloud backup, which is governed by Apple's iCloud Terms and Privacy Policy. We recommend enabling a strong device passcode and Face ID/Touch ID to protect your data.

6. Third-Party Services

PersonalFinX does not integrate with third-party advertising networks, analytics platforms (beyond Apple's standard crash reporting), or data brokers. The App does not include any third-party SDKs that collect personal data.

7. Children's Privacy

PersonalFinX is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through the App, please contact us and we will take steps to remove such information.

8. Your Rights

Because all your data is stored on your device, you have full control over it at all times. You may:

Access your data at any time within the App
Delete your data by deleting the App from your device, which removes all locally stored information
Export your data using the export features within the App
Delete your account (if applicable) from within the App's Settings section

If you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA), California, or another jurisdiction with specific privacy rights, the above rights apply to you. Since we do not collect or store your data on our servers, most data subject requests can be fulfilled directly by you on your own device.

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. PersonalFinX does not sell personal information. Because financial data is stored on-device only, there is no personal information held by us to disclose or delete on our end.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and, for material changes, provide in-app notification. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
